Programs and Services

Any child newborn to age three with any type of developmental delay can receive early intervention services from Special Kids and Families.  Diagnoses often include spina-bifida, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, Down Syndrome, speech or hearing or vision delay, autism, or delays from premature birth.  A specific diagnosis is not required to receive services.

Most often, families of children with developmental delays are referred to Special Kids and Families through TEIS (Tennessee Early Intervention System). We also receive referrals from doctors, nurses, social workers or other agencies.  A familiy can also contact Special Kids and Families directly about program participation.

Families that are concerned about their child's development should call the TEIS office and request an evaluation to see if their child qualifies for services through TEIS.
